Mensejahterakan Modal Insan Edisi Khas: Moh Belajor Lebih Jauh

The Perak state government has organized a remarkable webinar on Mensejahterakan Modal Insan Edisi Khas ‘Moh Belajar Lebih Jauh’ on 11 Ogos 2021. This webinar aims to provide exposure and guidance to Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) graduates who have not been able to place themselves in any center for further studies. This webinar is a continuation of the ‘Cikgu Saarani Tuition Program’ launched by YAB Menteri Besar Perak on 3 February 2021 which was implemented in collaboration between Pusat Aspirasi Anak Perak (PASAK), Perak State Education Department (JPN), Yayasan Prihatin Nasional (PRIHATIN) and driven by Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR).

This webinar session was implemented based on three main objectives namely, to provide exposure on the role of Yayasan Prihatin Nasional in assisting the welfare and education of B40 category students, helping students identify schools that are suitable for their qualifications, identifying pathways for groups of students who are not interested in continuing formal studies and explore the opportunities that can be provided by Yayasan Prihatin Nasional to SPM graduates in category B40.

This is in line with the goal of PRIHATIN which is to provide various assistance to the indigent, especially among the young towards a better life. PRIHATIN also gives awareness to the community and young people on the importance of education and entrepreneurship for them to get out of the cocoon of poverty and at the same time produce competent leaders. In accordance with the three core priorities of PRIHATIN, namely education, entrepreneurship and leadership. Jelajah Pendidikan Prihatin is a nationwide series that focuses on rural, indigenous and urban poor communities to expand access to higher education and provide a second chance to eligible SPM graduates to pursue higher studies.

Following the implementation of this webinar, SPM graduates and parents can understand in more detail that there are other methods to apply for continuing studies other than the UPU applied online. It can help SPM graduates who are qualified in terms of approval but less fortunate in terms of application to higher education due to incorrect information or poverty factors. It also provides exposure on career paths that suit the interests and inclinations of students can also be done while helping the rural community and the B40 group to improve living standards by producing a more educated generation.

The program conducted by Prof. Prof. Dr. Ridzwan Che Rus, Senior Lecturer, Technical and Vocational Faculty from Sultan Idris Educational University (UPSI) as the moderator, YB Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud, Chairman of the Perak State Education, Higher Education and Human Resources Committee as the officiator. The panel members who participated in this program were Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’Sri.Ir. Dr. Sahol Hamid bin Abu Bakar, the Vice Chancellor of UNITAR International University, Education & Scholarship Advisor of Yayasan Prihatin Nasional and YBhg Dato ‘Mohd Aizuddin Mohd Ghazali, Chief Executive of Yayasan Prihatin Nasional.

The webinar, which was screened on the digital platform of Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR) and Microsoft Teams. The episode managed to garner 2000 views and received more than 30 shares and received very positive feedbacks with statements from participants who agreed that the content of the webinar was aligned. The duration of this webinar series was also widely agreed that it was very clear and effective with the presentation by the moderators and panels. In addition, the webinar session also received encouraging comments such as ‘Webinar yang menarik dan banyak pengetahuan yang dapat saya perolehi’, dan, ‘Program yang terbaik. Teruskan membuat program yang berilmiah.’ The average comments on this webinar were positive. In fact, such programs are in demand to be held again in the future.
